CFS Certification Program

Certified Food Scientist (CFS)
Certification Program

The Certified Food Scientist (CFS)
certification acknowledges the applied skills of food scientists, provides differentiation in the marketplace, and ultimately, helps demonstrate the professions’ commitment to safe and nutritious food for consumers.

When you obtain your Certified Food Scientist (CFS) credential, you separate yourself from the rest in your profession, give yourself a competitive edge in the global arena, and keep your skills and knowledge current in the ever-evolving field of food science. This is your opportunity to not only validate but celebrate your acquired talents and expertise.

CIFST is a valued partner of the CFS program, in partnership with the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and the International Food Science Certification Commission (IFSCC) , which oversees the governance and policy-making for the CFS program.  CIFST will continue to promote career development and the credibility of the profession by reinforcing the importance of continuing education, and acknowledging CIFST members who have earned their CFS to be more readily identified as recognized food science professionals.
